Drinks on the deck!

The sun shone beautifully on Saturday afternoon.  Perhaps as a reward for my recent gardening efforts? ;D   Though it was, sadly, a little colder than the weathermen had – shamelessly – led us to believe!  But we had planned to barbecue.  So barbecue we did.  The very first of the season.  (But we ate indoors…just don’t tell anyone.)  This called for a celebratory drink, bien sûr, so we tried out a new summer apéritif – a Martini Rosato Royale…

Want to try it for yourself?  Just use one measure of Martini Rosato (which, by the way, can also be drunk on its own, quite sweet, with lots of ice) and one measure of ice cold bubbly.  Doesn’t really matter what you use for the bubbly part – we used a bottle of French crémant but Spanish cava or Italian spumante would work just as well.
